If you haven’t read this series, stick with me through the description, because I absolutely promise you that you will be more than pleasantly surprised. This series is fast becoming one of my favourites, ever, in any fandom. Seriously. I’m not even sure I can explain why. It shouldn’t work, it makes no sense, but it’s glorious. Apparently, we have AtlinMerrick to blame for the inspiration, but the execution is just first class. So, here it goes…
Khan (yes, from Star Trek) has a time surge experiment go wrong and ends up in 15th century England, where he meets Richard the Third (yes, that one, though before he is king). I know some of you will look skeptically at this and just want to stop now, but please don’t. Really, don’t. I have no idea how, but this really works, and yes it is a Johnlock series. Look, if you think you could like a series where, what I like to think of as, genuine soul mates meet, looking past the outer shell to see what is underneath and loving it dearly, then this is the series for you. If you want to see people overcoming obstacles, tackling their dark, dark demons and coming out the other side, then this is the series for you. If you like Shakespearean prose done like a pro, then … you get the picture. Just read it. The first fic is just under 10,000 words and it is an absolute gem (though necessarily light on the Johnlock). The second fic is a particular favourite since it brings Moriarty into the fray (And features a very confused Sherlock, always a bonus!). If you don’t like them, blame me!
Author’s summary: Richard, Duke of Gloucester, is 29 years old and needs a break from snide whispers before he just stabs someone. But in his place of sanctuary is a beautiful stranger -Khan Noonien Singh, victim of a time surge after an experiment goes wrong. At first it seems they’ll fight, but then other kinds of duelling seem more appealing.
But these two men are making bad choices, and their fates are written in the stars. Will their souls ever learn to make better choices? How long will it take them to find each other again, and what will they have to learn before they do?
Approx. 26,000 words and counting (eagerly awaiting more!)
